How Your Front End Gets Protected

PPF is only as good as the prep underneath it and the hands fitting it. Here's what happens from the moment your car comes through the door.

1. Wash and Decontaminate

A full safe wash, then chemical and clay decontamination to lift everything bonded to the paint. Film sticks to whatever it's laid on, so the surface has to be spotless.

2. Light Machine Polish

A light polish brings the gloss up and strips any old wax or sealant, so the film bonds straight to clean paint and locks in the best finish your car has had.

3. Computer-Cut Patterns

Our SunTek Approved installers cut the film to your exact vehicle using SunTek's pattern software and plotter. No blades dragged across your paint, no guesswork.

4. Fitting

Each piece is floated into position on a slip solution, aligned to the panel, then squeegeed down one section at a time.

5. Edges

Wherever the panel allows, edges are tucked out of sight and sealed with gentle heat, so there's no lifting and no obvious line where the film stops.

6. CQuartz Skin

Once the film is down, we finish it with CarPro CQuartz Skin, a coating made specifically for PPF, so it stays clearer and easier to clean from day one.

7. Overnight Cure and Inspection

Your car stays overnight so the film can settle, then every panel is checked under studio lighting before anything's signed off.

8. Handover

We walk you round the car, explain how the film settles over its first week, and show you how to wash it safely, bug splatter included.

EKJ started in 2017, when Kyle's dad began valeting cars in his home village of Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Kyle grew up watching him machine polish and wax his own pride and joys, and followed him into the trade as soon as he could drive.

The principle passed down was simple: quality over quantity. It's why every car comes into our secure Bromborough studio, and why the work is a meticulous process measured in days, not a quick shine measured in hours.

Paint Protection Film

What warranty comes with EKJ's PPF?

SunTek backs every install with a 12-year warranty covering cracking, peeling, yellowing, hazing and bubbling, on both the film and the fitting. It's genuine long-term cover, not a marketing figure.

Do you fit PPF at my home, or does the car need to come to you?

It needs to come to us. PPF has to go on in a clean, controlled space, because any dust or hair trapped under the film is there for good. Every install happens in our Bromborough studio, which is exactly why we don't offer it mobile.

Will the film damage my paint if it's ever removed?

Not on factory paint. Quality film like SunTek is designed to come off cleanly when removed properly. Resprayed panels are different, as aftermarket paint can bond less strongly, so let us know about any previous paintwork before we start.

Is front end PPF right for my car?

If you want to keep the paint looking right, it's worth it. It makes most sense on new cars, performance cars, cars that do regular motorway miles, and any car where the paint has just been corrected and you want it to stay that way. It's not the right first step if the paint already has heavy swirls or chips. Get the paint corrected first, then protect it. We'll talk through how you use the car and tell you honestly whether it's worth doing.

Will PPF change how my car looks?

Gloss film is optically clear and virtually invisible, and it often adds a touch of depth to the paint. On some panels a film edge can be seen up close where it can't be wrapped, but from normal viewing distance you'd struggle to know it's there. If you want a new look, coloured film is an option too.

What should I ask before choosing a PPF installer?

A few things worth asking anyone, us included: is the fitting done in a controlled studio, what warranty covers both the film and the fitting, how are tricky areas like edges and mirrors handled, and will you be kept updated while the car's there. Our PPF is fitted by SunTek Approved installers, we send update videos throughout, and we're happy to answer all of these before you commit to anything.

How much does front end PPF cost?

Front end PPF at EKJ starts from £1,500. That covers the full bonnet, front bumper, front wings, headlights and mirrors, plus all the prep, fitting, CQuartz Skin and aftercare that goes with it.

When can I wash my car after PPF is fitted?

Give it a week. The film is still settling during that time, and you might notice small moisture patches that clear on their own. After that, wash it as normal using the method we show you at handover.

Can I have ceramic coating as well as PPF?

Yes, and it's the combination we'd recommend. Every install is finished with CarPro CQuartz Skin over the film, and our ceramic coatings can protect the rest of the car, so every panel is covered and easy to keep clean.

How long does PPF take to install?

Your car will be with us for 1 to 2 days. The decontamination, polish, precision plotting and overnight cure all need proper time, and we don't cut any of them short.

Will PPF remove scratches or chips I already have?

No. PPF is protection, not a polish. The self-healing top coat takes care of new light swirls after it's fitted, but it won't fix damage that's already there. Our light polish handles minor swirls, deeper scratches need paint correction first, and existing chips may need touching in. We'll tell you what your paint needs before anything goes on.
