Experience, Expertise, and the Three Year Promise
If you own a stunning sports car like a Porsche Cayman S, you understand that maintenance isn't a chore it's an investment. You want a finish that not only shines but lasts. At our detailing studio in Bromborough on The Wirral, we don't just apply a ceramic coating; we engineer a long-term protective bond.
Our returning client’s Cayman S recently came in for a three year Ceramic Coating (Car Pro C.Quartz professional) on both the paintwork and the wheels. But the real secret to delivering on that three year promise isn't in the coating its self. It’s in the meticulous, multi stage, multi day preparation that happens before a single drop of ceramic is installed. This process is non negotiable for achieving genuine longevity and maximum gloss.
Why We Disassemble: The Deep Clean Foundation
The Wheel and Arch Decontamination Process
To achieve a thorough, deep clean, we have one philosophy, take it all off. This is the only way to get full access to areas where brake dust and road grime build up.
Wheels Off: The first step is always to remove the wheels. This grants full access to the inner barrels, the back of the spokes, the tires, the wheel arches, and the brake calipers.
Thorough Decontamination: These components are treated to a full decontamination process to remove tar, fallout, and baked on dirt. Our goal is to make them look absolutely "factory fresh".
Physical Bonding: Achieving a perfect bond is a physical process. The ceramic coating needs a surgically clean surface to adhere to. If contaminants remain, the two year dedicated ceramic coating applied to the wheels will not form the necessary physical bond, compromising its durability.

The Three-Stage Paintwork Decontamination
The body of the Cayman S receives an equally intense decontamination process to ensure a clean slate before any machine polishing begins.
Contact Wash: A foundational, careful wash to remove loose surface dirt.
Chemical Wash: This stage chemically dissolves stubborn contaminants like industrial fallout and tar that a regular wash cannot remove.
Mechanical Clay Bar: The final step in decontamination removes any bonded on debris, creating a smooth surface ready for correction.
The Big Idea: Skipping Stages is Sacrificing Longevity. If you skip or rush the decontamination, the remaining contaminants are simply rammed into the paintwork during the polishing stage. This clogs the polishing pads, prevents you from getting the best possible finish, and ultimately compromises the integrity of the coating.

The Enhancement Stage: Restoring Brilliance
Single-Stage Correction for High Gloss Impact
Our client’s Porsche paintwork was not in an extremely poor poor condition, but it was noted as looking "dull and faded," likely due to UV damage. To restore its brilliance and prepare it for ceramic protection, we performed a single-stage machine polish.
Removing Imperfections: A single-stage polish is enough to remove light scratches and swirls, which dramatically enhances the vehicle's gloss levels.
Full Coverage: Using both 3-inch and 5-inch machines allows us to access every groove and curve on the vehicle from the sills and bumpers right down to the spoiler. We even machine polish the lights, as they can also suffer from swirl damage.

Prepping for the Final Bond
Once the correction is complete, the entire vehicle is subjected to a final, critical cleaning step:
Panel Wiping: We panel wipe the entire vehicle down with a specialized solution. This removes any remaining oils or residue left over from the polishing compounds.
Surgically Clean: This step is paramount. The paintwork must be "surgically clean" to allow our accredited Car Pro C.Quartz Professional ceramic coating to form a physical bond with the paint. Without this final cleaning, the coating will not have the durability or longevity we promise our clients.

The Final Protection: A Three-Year Transformation
With the wheels polished and ceramic coated, the exhaust tips cleaned, and the paintwork prepped to perfection, the three year coating was finally applied. The entire process transforms the vehicle from merely clean to sensational.
The result? A Porsche Cayman S that looks better than the day it came out of the factory, now protected for the next three years. This level of protection makes the vehicle super easy to wash and incredibly simple to maintain, ensuring a long lasting, brilliant driving experience for our client.
